Myeloma Canada, a not-for-profit organization created by and for people living with myeloma and dedicated exclusively to the Canadian myeloma community, has been dedicated to helping people live with and to vanquishing myeloma since 2005.  Myeloma is generally referred to as a blood cancer but it is more specifically a cancer affecting the immune system. Myeloma Canada’s mission is to improve the lives of Canadians impacted by myeloma through awareness-building, educational activities, advocacy, support of clinical research and fostering an empowered myeloma community.

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Reporting to, and working closely with, the Executive Director, the Operations Manager will oversee and ensure efficient and productive work practices throughout the organization. The Operations Manager will support the Board of Directors and the Executive Director by promoting the vision and strategic plan of Myeloma Canada in all their activities. The Operations Manager will design indicators to measure organizational progress and will establish systems and procedures to maximize internal productivity as well as support and stimulate organizational growth for the coming years.

Organizational processes, including creating efficient, internal communication systems and enhancing relationship management with suppliers and outside IT experts, must all contribute to administrative, legal, governance, follow-up, financial and audit systems that support the mission. Further responsibilities within the organization include finances, budgets, administration and human resources; overseeing the coordination and operational management of various programs and projects, often in conjunction with outside partners, is also done by the Operations Manager.

Myeloma Canada is looking for a bilingual candidate, with an applicable university degree, who has ten years’ experience working for a not-for-profit organization, though previous experience in the for-profit sector may be considered an asset. A proven track record of successful and concrete realizations in the management of human and financial resources is required, as well as a very well-developed sense of priority setting and time management. Finally, the ideal person will have a finely-tuned attention to detail as well as excellent written and verbal skills in French and English.
